02 zx3 time to go lower help and advice needed.

Gentleman,

I was looking at the sportline kit from Eibach but now I am thinking of the ford racing kit. Money is a severe issue since I am in Grad school and not working but a few hours here and there. I was hoping to get out for $400 but the Eibach kit is $500+. Could someone point me in the right direction of a good mix of ride quality and performance for the price conscious Grad student?

ah ps. I am thinking 1.5 inches is sufficient as I have the Cervini body kit and 2- 2.5 may be too much but hell, I am willing to go that low if the price is right and performance with ride quality is there.

Corbin.

For a 1.5 drop it will be hard to do for less than $500 new. When you go to 1.5"-2" you really need better struts/shocks to handle and control the stiffer springs. Other shocks will in short term feel ok but will wear out soon due to being overworked. The strut/shock set is the big cost. For springs I've seen Megan 2" drop springs on eBay for ad low as $100. Could match with SVT strut/shocks and come in under $400 but as as I said they may wear out soon. Also with you body kit be careful of 2" drop since that fiberglass will crack super easy.

My kit is not fiberglass. It is polyurethane. Same material the bumpers are made of. I researched the snot out of kits before I bought. I thought when you were trying to match up struts/shocks with springs you had to make sure the shock/struts were the right length. It would seem the svt shock struts would be too long.
