Need advice on new spring kit

Supp folks, I'm looking foward to buy a new spring kit to lower my car and was asking myself if anyone around here had tried Eibach Sportline kit for focus 2012. http://performance-suspension-eibach...f-4-springs-20 Not sure if it can handle the 1.7'' drop.
Looking foward to get some news!

Jp

Welcome to FF, RcFiftyTwo.
I'm sure the car can handle it, but it is unlikely that the stock struts/shocks will survive for very long. If you search in the discussion forums for "lowering springs" here, and on FJ, you will discover that a complete suspension system with matched springs and dampers, (and anti-sway bars) will give you much more satisfying results in handling, ride, and control of your car. Furthermore, the expense of one installation of springs and dampers will save time and money, instead of installing springs now, and later, when you have to replace the blown stock dampers that will not survive the shortened springs.
Good luck, and keep us updated on this and other mods, and post some photos!

Yes, your car can handle it. Try a search for
"Sportlines" in the Mk3 section. You'll find plenty of write ups, pictures, and discussion.

Moved to ”Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension”

You should get a better response to your question here.

Thanks.

From my personal experience, I would not get the Sportlines again if I had the chance. The ride quality changed drastically. The entire car shakes through acceleration pretty bad. You feel every bump in the road. I love the look of the drop that it gave my car, but the ride quality took a big hit. You will just have to choose form or function on this matter.

How does the car shake thru acceleration? Never heard that before w/ a suspension drop.

You shorten up the suspension travel somethings got to give. If your looking for a smooth stock type ride then stay oem. Just to add, bags ride real smooth at least in chevelle's & others. You could air bag it.

It never shook before I dropped the car. Whenever I am accelerating, the car shakes all over. But when I get up to speed, the shaking goes away.

How 'bout tire balance? Have you tried rotating the tires to see if it changes the shake?
