Brake Job

So doing brakes on my car I'm changing pads and rotors, I usually take it to the shop but trying to cut cost. Just curious when i went to remove the passenger side wheel the rotor wiggled a bit and when i went to put the new rotor on it didn't seem to fit flush it kinda sits angled. now a few years back i wiped out on cinders and got the car sideways and a felt a clunk with the car and the suspension jutted to the right so could that be why it doesn't sit right or is it normal for the rotor to be that way till you add the pads and caliper? also the car did pull to the right and the steering wheel also has to be at at maybe two o'clock to have the wheels be straight

the rotor if looked at side ways is like this / the top seems to sit ok but the bottom of the rotor sits out more

Is this while the car is in the air and the suspension is open? Or is the suspension compressed and the rotor is positioned this way?

Do you have open ended lugs or are they closed? I would recommend placing two nuts on the studs with the rotor on and hand tighten them to keep the rotor in place. Its easier to place the calipers and pads when the rotor isn't wiggling.

Also, when the suspension is at full reach, the alignment will be off-camber and the rotor will be at an angle. However, if you get everything put back together and your car pulls to the right like you say, you've got a serious problem and need to have your vehicle aligned and/or inspected by a professional.

Be very careful and make sure you use the correct factory specifications when torquing everything back into place.

Brakes are super easy to work on, but they are a critical component and leave very little room for mistakes!

started to rain so just trying to finish putting them back together will torque it all down when it clears up. also did what you said and i noticed on the passenger side after adding the pads and caliper it didn't have as much play or lean and after i remounted the wheels no more play or lean. gonna try to knock out the right side

noticed the drivers side doesn't have the same amount of play on it even after i removed the wheel,caliper and pads its on solid no wiggle at all
