The internet is great for info, but you gotta sift thru whats good and bad. Do what you want. But what your trying to do I can guarantee its not gonna work. Have you ever heard the old adage "If its worth doing right, its worth doing it right the first time" You say your short on funds then save up more and DO IT RIGHT. The way your approaching lowering your car is not safe and its not going to last. you will be doing this job again and then spending more money.

Everyone on this site is just trying to help. The majority of people dont attack others ideas. But we dont want to see you do something that is going to put yourself and others in danger.

If you were to contact an engineer that knows suspensions he would tell you dont do it. if you contact the suspension manufacturer they would tell you to not cut ANYTHING because its not designed to work that way. Think a little bit more about this before you move forward please. Its not a good idea.

1.) You will never be able to pull of the look of an ET10 wheel without some serious fender work and a wide body. Sorry.

2.) People are giving you some seriously good advice. You should take it; even if it's with a grain of salt.

3.) If you are really that dead set on cutting your struts/shocks to shorten them, instead of cutting them and then trying to weld them together, cut it to where you want it and rethread the top. It will be much stronger in the end.

I agree with this completely. Listen to grandpa. He knows his stuff. He's been around awhile.

Please don't cut the struts. That is just plain dangerous. Do it right.

Also, SVT struts cannot be lowered 2". They are stiffer, but do NOT handle working outside of their effective range OR stiffer springs. Even cutting the rod to put the travel in their optimal range will still cause them to blow quickly due to how stiff of a spring you need to lower the car where you want it and not ride on the bump stops.

I'm all for saving money when you can, but never when it compromises safety. If you want low on a budget, go with Racelands. They are GARBAGE, but at least won't kill you.

If you can't afford to do it right, you can't afford to do it twice.

Write that down, car guy words to live by.

Also, those wheels look horrible, offset is WAY off. It would need widebody to look right.
