06 suspension

Hey guys
Ive got a 2006 zx3 and i was wondering if you guys have heard of anyone using these?
http://www.andysautosport.com/ford/2...ex_suspension/

I know they are pretty cheap but i am looking for a cheap suspension DROP at this point. Do you think i would need new shocks with these? I will not be doing any autoX so these would be for daily driving only.
Thanks

You will need new shocks and struts. Shorter stiffer springs require shorter firmer dampers. Aftermarket springs can easily overpower OE dampers causing them to either bottom out (self destruction) or prematurely wear out. Handling and ride quality will suffer.

I'll answer with a question. Why would you go thru the hassle of installing the springs with the old stuff only to remove it to install the new dampers a month latter? Why not just wait the month and do it right.

And I'll add you'd have to set your toe twice also.

Been there, done that, it's easily cured with some minimal self control effort and common sense.

What is referred to as the FRPP kit is not really sold as a kit like the SVT springs and shocks are. The FRPP "combo" is essentially a set of springs that drop 1.5 inches and are usually matched to the SVT shocks. Naturally the springs and shocks are different for 00-05 and 06+ models, but the key difference is that the FRPP springs drop the car more than the SVT springs do.

The downside/bummer is that its been reported that Ford Racing is no longer producing the FRPP springs and shocks for 06+ cars. The Massive Omni kit can, however, be used to install FRPP springs and shocks intended for an 00-05 Focus on a 06+ Focus if your interested in using that setup.
