Ford Racing suspension - Which kit / Funkin Klunkin
I am about to order up new shocks/struts -
Q1: Do the 2 kits (below) have the same bits, i.e., does the assembled set have everything included in the no-spring set?
At his point, I'm thinking new springs would not be a bad idea (with 117k on the original parts!)
Q2: And... what else should I order that might eliminate the funkin right front (especially) clunking that would be relatively easy cheap?
Sway bar end links, other???
M-3000-ZX3A 00-05 Stock SVT kit w/o rear sway, but with strut top mounts and springs
M-18000-ZX3 00-05 Stock SVT shocks & struts (comes with mounts, bearings, etc., but no springs)

Unless you have abused the car the current springs should be OK. Definitely replace the shocks as they are long gone (about 50K miles ago). Yes, replace the end links as they are a wear item and are the source of most front end noises. That said, get the shock kit without springs if the car hasn't been beat on.
Most of the previous history is unknown; what I'm now thinking is that for what works out to about $34 a spring (difference between the 2 kits) and the pre-assembled lack of time, I'm gonna step up.

Moog front sway bar end links (Part # K80066, quantity: 2)
Moog rear sway bar end links (Part # K90129, quantity: 2)
Sway bar bushings, maybe, too... what the heck.
Prothane Front sway bar bushings (part # 6-1152-BL)
Prothane Rear sway bar bushings (part # 6-1156-BL)
And, what the heck - LCA's can be had for less than $50 each as well. Being that they come with wear items preinstalled, doing them at the same time makes sense.
NEXT: I have to see if Mr Fordahl's new shop is open and if racing season is winding up so he can play with my lowly daily driver <g>

Got the kit, got the Moog 'Problem Solver' front sway bar end links.
Popped the Moog parts in first, and yeah, that fixed the clunking. Woo hoo.
Went back under and swapped out the front struts/spring assemblies, and THAT helped, too. The old ones were worn, a noticeable but not major change.
Next: Into Greg's to finish up the rear- springs/shocks and sway bar bushings and get a good alignment.
He has a scale to step on, gets your weight, puts sand bags/weights in the drivers seat before he starts. Niiiiiiiiice.... just a bit $ more than say, Sears or Goodyear. Like I'd do THAT... NOT!
I stopped in and chatted with him, and he's very familiar with the car as he has friends that campaign SVT's locally.

So, the springs were sagging a bit after about 118k miles. Glad I did it.
Aside: A few winds of the springs had some shiny areas - the inner wheel well has what appears to be a corresponding series of rubbed marks.
Could it be they were whapping??????????????
