Hellwig products coil spring lowering kit 3"

Yes or no? I have a 2007 ZX4 ST. The suspension is great in this car, but I'd like to lower it bit to increase handling and for cosmetic purposes. I really don't like the 'raised back end' look the STs seem to have. Has anyone tried these and would they recommend them or not? My apologies, if this has been posted or is a played out discussion. Thanks, in advance.

First of all, this will not improve handling. At all.

Secondly, you will ruin your suspension with this product.

Lastly, don't be a cheap ass. Buy a real suspension kit. If you can't afford it, you don't need it.

You'd never be able to find a shock to work with a "significant" (as in huge) drop like that. A more reasonable amount would be in the area of 1.5 inches.

Coilovers would drop it that low.

But something tells me that someone banking on a $45 novelty product won't be too interested in spending a grand on coilovers

to FF. A great thing to do is read the stickeys above^^^^. And there is loads & loads of info thru out this forum. You'll need to spend at least 2hrs. FRPP's has a desent suspension kit= 1.5'' springs & a matched set of dampers to work w/ the lowering springs. Hit up Steve @ Toulsey Ford. Trevor @ Tirerack is a sponsor here.

I would imagine that with a kit like that, whenever you would hit a bump and the car would recoil up (neg G's), that little kit would clank around, scratch the springs, shift, and might even cause the spring to become un-seated and cause all kinds of problems, might even cause a wreck. Bad bad bad. Maybe just for shows and such, but I would NEVER drive with anything like that on my car!
