BJ for my 2006 Focus ST + Calipers

Changing all four rotors and calipers. Powerslot rotors coupled with Hawk HPS street pads all around. When working on the rears, I found that they were wearing unevenly; the pad was so worn, the pin got stock in the bracket of the Caliper.

Apparently nobody carries rear brake brackets for the ST except the dealer. How much you ask? 170 freaking dollars for a bracket. New calipers-that come with brackets- are 50 bucks.

The point of this thread is to ask about changing the calipers and bleeding the rear brakes. Has anyone done this for the Focus ST? Any tips? I've never changed calipers before, is it difficult?

Thanks for any tips!

Bonus: New studly rotors, goodbye brake vibrations, hello negative G forces.

For the record Rockauto shows the caliper brackets for $135 + s/h (before 5% discount), which is the same bracket used on all non-SVT 2000 - 07 Focus w/ rear disc brakes.

I am curious where did you find new calipers and brackets for $50 at? Most I see are rebuilts (with upfront core charge) and many of them appear to not come with the bracket.

I ended up replacing one of my rear caliper's as the sliding pin bolt was froze up, when I was replacing my rear pads, last yr. I went w/ a Napa reman caliper which came w/ the bracket as that's what I needed. A great upgrade for the front brakes is the svt rotors/calipers w/ ss lines which is a direct bolt on.

This thread is from 2012 and back from the dead. FWIW I got a pair with SVT brackets w/ calipers from Napa and just turned in my old one (non-svt) for the core charge. They didn't seem to mind or notice.

SVT CALIPER w/ BRACKET CLICKY

NON-SVT CALIPER w/ BRACKETS CLICKY

Whoopse forgot to check the OP date. I was searching for info on potentially using the 2008 - 11 calipers on 05 -07 vehicles and came across this thread.
