Exclamation Cheapest way to lower my '07 hatch?

Looking to get like a 2" drop on it and after looking at the rediculous prices of coilovers, figured there should be a cheaper way of doing it. My roomate just installed some coilovers on his '99 civic for about 50 bucks. If this is how it is on the focus then I might just get rid of the whole idea and maybe trade for somethin easier and cheaper to work on. I am trying not to resort to that cause I really love my foci. Please let me know if there is ANY other way to keep my dream alive. Thanks.

Buy a Civic.

Parts for a Focus can never be as cheap as part for a Civic, you'll have to live with it. For what it's worth, unless he got super lucky with his deal, I bet you his coils are crap and make the car ride like ass.

^ What he said. My brother put some Cheapbay coil-overs on his Honda a while back. Sure it was low but holy hell was the ride terrible. Not to mention the spring rates was different on all four springs.

+1 on the Sportlines.

Yea just a little dissapointed it is waaaaaay out of my price range to pretty much do anything to my car right now. And never will i own a freakin honda. Part of the reason I want to do this is to show him up anyway. Hehehe. One day for sure it will happen though.

In most cases you get what you pay for. spend the money and buy a good set rather then wasteing it on something the lacks in quality.

There's a right way to do things and then there's a wrong way. I bet you could also find a 50.00 lowering kit for the Focus on ebay but it would be pure garbage. You can drop 1.5" for 300.00 and it will be decent stuff (FRPP combo). Going below 1.5" requires good springs and shocks (to keep you off the bump stops) and that requires more money. The Focus, unfortunately, has never had the aftermarket following that a Honda has and probably never will. But on the otherhand it's not all that bad and most of the major (reputable) manufacturers offer aftermarket pieces that don't cost much more than the ones they make for Hondas.
