Front left suspension suspense...

Car: 2003 ZX5 2.0L ~80k miles

Problem: front left end link keeps ceasing without hitting anything that should cause it to do so. (I put moog sway bar end links in on Monday and it ceased today)

Back story: I hit a massive pot hole about a year ago. Dealer said bad end links was cause of noise and replaced both. 6 months later the front left bearing went bad (coincidence or related?). Had that replaced and made it 4 months before end link noise started again. I've been through a few end links...

Solution?

Here's what I've looked at: I cannot get ball joint to budge, so according to other posts, it's good. Shocks are a bit bouncy, but not too bad?

Symptoms: today right before the end link went out, I was driving on the interstate (~70mph) and the front end was shaking like crazy. Not like it did with a bad bearing, just very rough. Then I rolled over a hill that caused the weight of the car to unload, then compress, and end link made a pop and it is now creaky.

Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this to get to the real source of the problem would be much-appreciated. Thanks for all the posts in the forum, they were helpful for me to troubleshoot the end link problem.

I would check for a bent front swaybar, if you are running around with a bunch of preload on one side that can kill parts quickly.

Did you ever have an alignment done after the big pothole incedent?

Yes after the initial incident, there was an alignment.

How can I check if the sway bar is bent?

Easiest is to just measure front fender gaps, one side will sit slightly higher.
