yay or nay (pictures)

Just got done painting the letters on one of the tires on a set of steelies i just got.

yay or nay?

had these snow tires and wheels set 15" i wasnt using because i have a full set of SVT wheels with snow tires on em. So i traded em for a full set of steelies.

what i had.

i ran em just one season

my idea is to use the full moon hubcaps on em but i think the raised white letter look a little better.

Well i thought of a "paint pen" but i think they are water based and that might come off to quickly. Im using testors model paint.

Well i went to hobby lobby and bought 2 little bottles of the flat white testors model paint and a 3 brush pack. I also bought a large bottle of thinner. The 3 brush pack has 2 medium tip flat bruses and a pointed tip one.

I had to use the thinner and thin it quite a bit so it would flow well into the edges. I also used the thinner to clean the letters really well i hope it helps the paint stick better.

Ive thinned it so much i think one little bottle $2. i think will do more then 4 tires.

If i have to touch em up i dont mind, im really just doing it more or less for a couple photos then if it comes off the next day oh well.

Yeah i think im going to do it anyway, ive always thought the white letter looked kinda sporty ive always liked it. I think its more for "hotrods" or muscle cars but IMO it still has an American kinda look.

Its just a play set of tires and wheels anyway so no big deal. The set i traded we were just using the stack of tires as a bench. They were stacked up with a board ontop and junk was just collecting on the board.

I should swap out my intake insted of messing with this but for now it runs good enough not to make it a big priority. I do want to change it out though, just kinda got side tracked on this.

I guess I'm on the nay side as well. Raised white letters have been around a long time (I had them on my 70 Barracuda when new). To me (personal opinion) they're more appropriate on an old muscle cars, SUV's, pick-up trucks, Nascar and Indy cars. Wheel covers aren't bad, but a freshly painted (no visible rust) steel wheel with chrome lug nuts can look just as good.
