suspension noise on ZX3, 2004

So on my 2004 ZX3 5sp, zetec on the way to work this morning I noticed a slight knocking noise from the suspension when I went over a speed bump a little off center. It doesn't happen or isn't noticeable under regular driving, but after I heard it I noticed it over small slow bumps. It isn't bad but what do you guys think it is or how would I check it out without a lift? It is similar to my BMW 535 when the rear shocks clunk (bilstein sports on H&R springs) a little although this sounds like it is coming from the front end. I hope to hear "they all do that" and you can fix it this way cheap....

thanks!

Kevin

They all do that....

...at some point or another, usually when the swaybar endlinks wear out.
The Ford endlinks are solid with sphericals on both ends, no rubber bushings. When they wear out, they get clunky.

You will want to jack the front end off the ground to take a look.

funny thing is when I got back in the car for lunch I didn't gear it. Guess I'll have to run over a couple speed bumps! THANKS!
