so, maybe i missed something, which is highly possible...but

to use the Eibach kit i would not only be purchasing the springs, but the alignment kit aswell, making this install around 5-600?

For the Sportline it looks like it. For the Pro-kit it appears to just be swapping springs, which makes sense.

If I choose to keep the car for a while after I'm done paying her off I may look into the Sportlines. The Pro-kit's drop just isn't enough.

SOOOOOOO..... I have the original Sport Package on my SE that came with the touring struts. I also have in my possession a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs. Will they be happy together or not? Either way it's going to happen. We'll just have to see who decides to wear the pants in the marriage down the road.

MSRP on the springs is 329.00 and you can get the Pro-Kit on ebay for 220.00 shipped. If the camber arm can be had for the same discount, say around 200.00, you'd be looking at 420.00 to drop 1-1/2". Not sure if any other parts are necessary for a Sportline 1-1/2" drop. Struts???

The Pro-Kit is probably a simple spring swap and an alignment check, so you're looking at 220.00 and part of a day's work I imagine. Sounds like newmission can fill in the blanks with the Pro-Kit after he gets it done.

Please take some notes for us when you do the install. Sounds like the front struts are a pain to remove. I'd like to know just what's involved at the front end.

Will do. I've done springs before on a few cars. Had a first gen DSM that was just sexy dropped 2 inches. I usually compress the spring before removing the whole strut, if there's room. Then it's just a matter of pushing the gas out of the damper and pull. We'll see...

Front struts are easy... Its hard for someone that doesnt know how to turn a wrench maybe or doesnt have the right tools. I did front and back in about 1 1/2 just make sure you index the top of the front strut correctly or your ride hieght will be 1/4-3/8" off on each side.

Installed rears today. Took a couple hours. Best advice I have is, remove the lower shock bolt, and install new bump stop while springs are REMOVED.

Here is the factory spring (left), to the Eibach Pro spring (right).



I used a spring compressor, and pry-bar to guide the spring out and in. The bump stop is just pressed on. Pop it off with a screwdriver, and twist the new on one.



Will be installing fronts tomorrow.
