Alignment after lowering...the right way to do it?

Are additional parts necessary to put camber right on a 1" lowered Focus? Anyone who's lowered please chime in and let us know how the right way to do this is. Thanks in advance.

I haven't done any camber work yet on mine. So far I'm at about 1800 miles with the new springs and I'm not detecting any abnormal wear on the tires or any handling issues. My rears have about 2 degrees negative after the install (fronts are within specs), but I don't plan on doing anything about it until I know there's a problem.

Camber is not an easy adjustment on this car. The multi-link suspension requires a pretty elaborate set of adjustments to get them back to factory spec. I've seen kits online just for the rears that cost over $500 and the fronts would most likely be even worse. There is a workaround that could be done on the rears for a few bucks, but it would definitely void your warranty. I won't discuss it here, but if you take a look at the rear setup and are familiar with cam bolts you'll see what I mean. Some cutting and grinding would be required.

Been a while and want to ask those who used Eibach lowering springs to give feedback on the alignment issues introduced, if any. And to give feedback on how they like it.

Do you think your car will need extra work beyond a standard alignment or is it good for the long term as is? When I lowered my F150 I had to install a camber bolt kit. It worked out great, but I hear the Focus is not going to be easy if a camber kit is necessary.

I really want to do this, but I don't want do surgery on my Focus to make it right. If it's a straight bolt on, I'm doing this modification asap.


UPDATE: I just checked Eibach's website. You should see all the suspension stuff under development. Including a camber kit!

All the rear suspension is the same on 2000-2012 models the camber arms from any company will work.

I now have about 4,000 miles on the car with the Eibach Spring kit and still no wear issues with the tires. If you need to adjust the camber just for aesthetic's sake, the adjustable arm would definitely be the way to go.

My car came with the upgraded suspension, so I would have to say that the ride is slightly harsher, but the cornering crispness and body roll are substantially better. I like it just fine the way it is after the spring kit.

In comparison, I have an 06 Mustang GT with Roush Racing suspension components throughout and it's like riding a bucking horse compared to the Focus. I still love my Stang, but for the long rides I prefer the Focus by far.

Nice, however their before/after pic of the black focus makes it difficult to see the difference in ride height... perhaps a lighter colour car would have been a better choice? def up for consideration, tho...
