Thanks! Will do. I already thought my suspension worked well, but always room for improvement. I'd hate to make it stiffer though, roads here in MI suck right now.

true, stiffer is not always better. I know the deal with bad roads, lol. Maybe a larger throttle body?

Also check with Mike at Hilbish Ford. How many miles do You have on Your current suspension? The stock suspension is rated at 50,000 miles, so It may need replacing anyway, and if Your happy with Your ride now, then a simpl OE SVT suspension should be fine. Just remember, if You go with exhaust, be sure to get ahold of Tom for an updated code for His tune, as it's always good to optimize.

I was searching for some suspension stuff. Most I found was guys converting to the SVT suspension. I ordered some Hawk brake pads today. What would you recommend for suspension set-up for agressive street and track driving?

Ps.. I'm at 42K in miles

Pss. Ford dealer just put a new sway bar on the car too as the other was smashing up against my car body. One thing I do notice is any bump in the road, I still get the "bang" which makes me cringe! If a new suspension would help... i'm all ears.

also, anyone know of the Cobalt G3000 rotors? I have a line on a set of these. I'm replacing the front rotors with the pads and don't know much about them.

I have not messed with suspension too much so if i'm wrong anyone please correct me. I would go with the SVT kit. I have an SVT and love the handling, you may hear some guys complain about "bump steer" which is when you hit a bump or uneven road the steering tends to follow that bump or uneven pavement. If you don't want to go with the whole SVT kit, I would start with the Front Strut tower brace bar. helps reduce the car from "rolling" around corners and such.

moderator note;
I split your suspension/brake discussion off into a new thread in the "Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension" forums.

IMHO, I would not spend any money on a strut bar, unless that was only thing left undone.
They really don't do much more (on the fOCUS) than provide a great place to rest your hands while working on the engine.

With your roads I would just opt for some fresh stock SVT dampers, or adjustable KYB-AGX (reasonable price) or my favorite, Koni ($$) dampers.

The stock springs will provide the compliance you need over the degrading roads, yet are still plenty stiff enough for spirited handling,
especially if you dial up the stiffness on some adjustable dampers.

Hawk HPS pads are an excellent choice for street and occasional AutoCross/Track duty.
As far as rotors, Centric blanks are a great match for the above pads and reasonbly priced.
See here...one of our FF vendors carries them:
