Baer 13" Brake Kit

I found em for pretty cheap and since xmas is coming up, I was gonna ask the GF for em. Are they worth the money? the calipers seem kinds small for a 13" kit. anyone ran into any clearance issues on the factory euro svt wheels?

here's the link

I've been thinking about that kit and after some research, i'm curious to know if the calipers and their support bracket are the same as the Mustang Cobra 2003

CObra calipers:

Baer calipers for Svt Focus:

the question is, are they the same?

I called Baer and i asked one of the sales man, he really told me that Yes they are the same, but not directly, he wouldn't tell me and loose a sale, so it got me even more curious lol.

Here's some data from an email i sent:

Tomas,

Replacement rotors, 13x1.10 for the Focus front brake are 6910258 and 6920258 with a pricing of $157.60 each in the slotted drilled zinc plated finish.

Parts can be ordered from Baer direct by calling 602-233-1411

Thanks

Other info from theuir website (www.baer.com)

The Baer Claw® GT brake system is designed primarily for late-model Mustangs and the Subaru WRX (excluding the STi). The large 2-Piston PBR pin-driven calipers provide increased pad volume for a measurable increase in performance. Rotors are 1-Piece and come in 12.75" to 13" diameters, depending on the application. Cross-drilled, slotted and zinc-coated surfaces are standard; a smooth, plain rotor is available upon request (optional).

Note: 17" or larger wheels are required. Check wheel fitment with Baer fit check templates.

The Baer Claw® GT-PLUS covers a wide range of larger, heavier cars, trucks and SUVs and is a cost-effective alternative the 6-Piston EXTREME-PLUS system. Featuring large 2-Piston PBR pin-driven calipers and a greater pad volume, performance of these vehicles is greatly enhanced. Rotors are 2-Piece and come in 12.75" to 14" diameters, depending on the application. This design incorporates an aluminum hat, reducing overall weight. It also allows for differential expansion of the rotor plates, reducing the "bell effect," lowering thermal transfer to the hub, and ultimately prolonging bearing life.

Note: 17" or larger wheels are required. Check wheel fitment with Baer fit check templates.

==============

So, the kit would cost me a lot cheaper if the calipers from the Mustang Cobra fit with the stock front Focus SVT "knuckles", i would just need to get the Baer rotors and a pair of Halk HP+ hehe.

Anything you know about this, it's more than welcome.

they look exactly the same! here's what i know: htp is selling the brembo rs brake kit and they said to save money your could just buy the mounting kit and use mustang calipers. And if you were to do so you can get those calipers on ebay for very cheap.

Great news!! thanks for the info, that kinda confirms that the Mustang Cobra calipers and their bracket DO fit. Something else that i like about this option is that it fits on 17" wheels.
Now i'm wondering what about the rotors... i know that the ones from Baer are 157$ each side. Now would the RS rotors fit the Cobras Calipers?
I posted at HTP'S thread... we'll see what they say

Correction, Calipers are the same as BAT and Baer bbk, but they make a special bracket for the fitting. With that bracket, i don't need to get the Focus Rs knuckle.

This is what the complete kit includes:
Baer 13" Track Front System for 00-04 Ford Focus Zetec/SVT/SPI/ST170
NOTE: Requires use of factory SVT Focus spindles. 17 inch wheels or bigger are required for fitment.
The front TRACK System features 13" x 1.100" rotors with aluminum PBR twin piston calipers.

Front System includes:
•13" directionally curved vane rotors
•PBR two piston aluminum calipers with high metallic pads
•Teflon® linedStainless steel braided brake hoses
•6061-T6 billet aluminum brackets and fastening hardware

This is a direct bolt on for the Focus SVT and will fit any Focus that is fitted with the SVT knuckles.

---------
I called Baer and they told me that they sale the brackets for 67$

I found the Pbr calipers for 110$ canadian each then complete kit would cost me:

465$*

*(includes 2xcenter O rings(sales man from Baer info), not including the brake pads)

I,ll post pics whenever this gets donne.

I think this is exactly what I need!

I've got the Australian equivalent of a 2003 ZX3 and have got hold of a set of ST170 (SVT) knuckles and discs.

With this set up, I get good stopping power, and a bit of Mustang Cobra street cred

So are we saying that all I need is a pair of Cobra calipers and a set of brackets from Baer?
