Unhappy Clunking Shound from Suspension - help!

I have a 2004 SVT in competition orange. The front passenger side is making a hollow clunking sound over certain road bumps. Not sure what it could be. The car has stock springs with Eibach shocks.

Any ideas what it might be? Maybe a bad bushing on the strut tower?

Thanks Capt'n. I'll wedge myself under the car and inspect them. I just got back from my mechanic who took it for a ride - he says its the strut bushing......not sure if he's right since he does not specialize in Fords

It could be the strut bushing, but it is more likely one of hte endlinks. If we can get someone in here that is a real suspension expert, then we can get another opinion.

That would help. I can provide any additional descriptions if needed.

Thanks!

Let me know how it goes with the end link replacement. I put the car on a lift the other day and poked around. The endlinks, bushings, etc. all seem fine. I'm running Eibach shocks and it may be the bump stop that's worn out....no way to tell unless I remove it and I don't want to mess with a spring compression tool.

Take a look on the frame work just about the top of your end link to see if there is a mark or not..I had the sway bar shift over to the left on my SVT and the stud from the end link would hit on the frame a little, worth a look.

Another thing you can check is your motor driver's side motor mount. Mine was doing some clunk noises and turned out to be that mount. I also agree with hellbound to check the top of the endlinks.

i agree with captain, i had the same problem and i just replaced my right motor mount and the problem went away. so its possible that its the motor mount.
