Eibach pro-kit q's

I'm getting the Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs and was wondering (yes I did search with mixed results) if anyone has used them with the stock shocks/struts. From what I understand UP TO 1.5" is alright with the stock, but recommended that you trade up for newer ones. I'm trying to get this done in a fairly cheap manner and have found a few things that looked alright. I mainly ask because I would don't want to regret not getting the shocks/struts on my first go around. I apologize for any inconvenience if this was already asked (I skimmed through the searches). I found a set of KYB's on Ebay fairly cheapish? ($200) or would a set of SVT's be safe?

I would personally go with buying the eibach struts and shocks as well just because I know what a pain it is to riding on 4 blown stock shocks with atermarket springs on my old zx3.... bad idea. Even svt springs, i wouldn't do it. I understand your need to save money though. Thing is, while it will be low it wont handle like it should. Just my $0.02

it is always better to get everything done at the same time. if you try to be cheap then your doing it wrong. just start saving part by part till u got the whole kit. i think the KYB'S i think actually come mounted on the struts. my buddy had them on his focus he liked them alot.

I did find a set of Ford Racing on Ebay I was unsure about. they actually recommended using the Eibach Pro's with 'em. Anyone have experience with them?

buy the pro kit with springs and dampers.

your gonna blow your stock struts if you get just lowering springs.

and suspension is not cheap and you should NEVER cheap it out. suspension is a major part of car and plays a big part in safety. if money is an issue, then save your pennies and wait till you have at least about $500.

ebay is a way of cheaping out. dont use it for suspension.

svt struts are ok for lowering springs, but i wouldnt recommend it.

hope this helps.

You seem to have misunderstood DD, I said I would like to go about this in a fairly cheap manner. I didn't say I want to go buy the lowest bin price Chinese "Ibe-ack" struts for $60. I'm talking about lower cost components because I don't really need that $1400 set of Tokico Fully adjustable race set with laser level and electric camber/toe adjustment with provided remote control. These are what I was referring to (as the ones on ebay recommending the Eibach set). The ebay ad is herefor a few more days at least.
