SVT rear suspension "chirp"...any common causes??

Only over sharp bumps that affect one rear wheel at a time, I get a low "chirp", a little like a metal-on-metal sound. Before I lift the car and start snooping, tightening and lubing everything in sight, is there anything common about this? Sway bars bushings or endlinks? Other major suspension hardware? Subframe attachment hardware?

Thanks for any personal experiences you can provide.

I used to have something similar to that....and so did my buddy....turned out the bottom shock bolts where loose....they felt tight and were hard to turn...even the ford dealership looked at it and said they were tightened.....come to find out 1 was able to turn them 2 full turns each before they locked down....squeeks and chirps went away.

Yeah, I get that every once in a while when the bushings get dusty/dirty (live on a dirt road).
A quick trip to the coin-op power wash with a good cleaning underneath usually cures the "chirp" for a couple weeks.

actually mine is something else... i get that too... is the at the top where the mount is. is the metal on metal from where the rod and the spate touch. i wanted to put a small rubber washer and already put a washer to dampen the rubber at the top, but need something thicker...

Do you have a rear sway bar?
Spray the Bushings with white lithium grease...

If it's an after-market sway bar, the poly bushing sometimes will have grooves on the inside. Remove the bushing, and apply as necessary.
