If the bearings are toast they'll be making a lot of noise that would be hard to miss, and when you jack the car up you can move the wheel up and down or side to side. To check for minor wear, just remove the wheel and turn the hubs and feel for any resistance while turning. Typically when a bearing is due for replacement you'll know it either from the noise it makes or excessive shaking.

It has to do very much on the abuse. If you take it to that track, then very very quick. But they'll some times last you a very longa ass time. I have a friens ho has a 2000 ZX3, he has never every done any mods to it, nos any huge maintance other than lubes and oil changes! and it rides like new!

You are correct Señor!

It's funny how i drove about 10,000 miles on a bad bearing. The only reason i swapped mine out was cause the noise got louder and i couldn't enjoy my music!

Yup, this happened to my brothers VW Quantum. Front wheel bearing locked up and the wheel popped off while driving. Very dangerous. Focus' must be weird with wheel bearings cuz they seem to fail allot.
