new Civic Si in GS for 2006

I saw a discussion on SCCA forums about the new Civic Si competing in GS this year. 245 rubber on all 4 corners, crash bolts already in the catalog able to get up to 2 degrees camber, LSD that works as advertised. The Mini guys were not happy to have classed with us. 2006 is gonna be a verry competitive year with the new additions. Anyone seen this new Honda? Comments?

o_O that's a scary thought - that seems a little thick on the rubber though, is it seriously 245?

we're in for a hell of a year unless honda botched the chassis/suspension

"Wheels 17" Alloys
All-Season Tires P215 / 45 R17 87V

Michelin® Pilot® Exalto® PE2™ Summer Tires P215 / 45 ZR17 91W Available"

Nevermind, they aren't that wide.

Not happy, lol, why because they have good competition? I'm glad Honda brought a great Civic to these shore once again. 200hp NA high-revving engine, LSD, six-speed, nice interior, awesome resale value, great price, etc.

I've been trying to test drive the SI, but they're just so low-production at this moment that they're not just setting on the lots yet. Well, if I were still in GS, I'd be pretty intimidated because the Cooper S and Civic SI technically outclass the SVT. I'm really curious as to how the Cooper S and the Civic SI will stack up against one another.

I think the Cooper guys are unhappy because they're being "underclassed" since the S's can be driven to compete with some pretty impressive cars. Now the top S drivers may have some good competition if the right people get behind the SI's wheel.

It's still all down to driver... I think the only place this will make a real impact is at Pro Solo events and nationals, at least for this year.

I guess I will just have to drive faster!

They're talking about the maximum size tire to fit on the OE (or OE spec) rims. That's a lot of rubber to be running on for stock.

how can you run 245mm safely on a 17x7 rim that honda makes yet every other 7" wide rim it's not safe?
