Talking First Auto-x

All I can say is...WOOOO HOOOO! It was absolutly awsome. I was nervious at first, but my times kept getting faster and faster. I don't think I even came to the "edge" of my cars potential handling. I did get quite a few runs in.
1st - 66.4**
2nd - 62.1**
3rd - 61.3**
4th - 60.2**
5th - 59.3**
6th - 61.2** (rained)
7th - 58.1**(after track dried)

I was smiling from ear to ear because I kept getting faster. I am in the H Stock class and was running some times equal to some of the D Stock and STS classes. I know a lot has to do with the drivers abilities becsue there were some really fast times in those other classes like 52.***..... Now for new sticky rubber and lighter rims so I can get some better times.

How about focusing on your driving instead of going for stickier rubber and lighter wheels?

Stickier tires will simply help hide your mistakes and hinder you from becoming a better driver. I drove my first year of autocross in G-stock on my stock tires and I am glad I did! It helped me learn the limits of the car and ME!

Oh..I don't plan on getting these right away. Maybe next season. This season IS for my driving and to see what my limits and the cars limits are.

Thanks for the compliments ....

I do have to say that Garick is pretty good at this sport.

You seemed to have done pretty darn good for first time out. Too bad you wont be at the next one... I know sometimes family is more important.

good job...ive run in 2 events so far...2nd one better than the first...and damn, Im an addict. I am in need of suspension and tires. 2005 ZX3 S stock...in STS because of the steeda short throw....thats ok by me...i know the limits of my car...and i know wat it needs to be "faster" ;)

But money will be holding me back until next season (only one more auto x this year for me before school starts).

Again good job...and you will become an addict ;)

Thanks.

My wife is't into cars or racing unless they are crashing into each other..I am trying to get my wife to go to the next one..and for some reason she just doesn't want to spend her b-day there ..... I'm gonna keep working her down though. My wife really isn't into cars or racing unless they are crashing into each other.
