cornering-my car drags

I was just wondering if anyone has had their bumper drag while pushing hard in the corners. I posted this same question in a differen't forum with little response, and thought somone here may have had the same experience. I drive an 02 svt and have stock suspension as far as I know it looks like it to me and my tires are Kumo Esta stock 17. This is not under normal driving conditions but while pushing hard in the corners without accelerating my bumper drags the black trim on the bottom.Usualy I brake before a curve and just coast to the apex where I start accelerating again. Braking while in the curve makes this terrible in hard driving and noticable somtimes in normal driving. The car does not drag the bumper at all if I accelerate through the curve

Have you looked into the fender well area to see right were it`s dragging? And what size are your tires???225/50/17 or ??? I run 235/40/16 on the track and have no rubbing issues. With a full suspension kit. Lowered about 1.5 front 1.25 rear.

I guess we don`t understand the question here..If the bumper is dragging then there is a major problem. I tend to think that your tires are rubbing in the fender well and thats the noise you hear.

I didn't think it was rude at all frush. The reason I don't think it's the fenderwell is becouse of the scrape marks on the black plastic trim on the bottom of the bumper. I call it the bumper somone else ma have a better name for it. I'll check the tire size and just take a look at the fenderwells it is reasonable that that could be it.

215/45 r17 I checked the fenderwells and there is no visible scrubing at all just the black trim on the bottom of the bumper. Don't get me wrong here I am well satisfied with the handeling of the car it is the best cornering car I have ever driven. But I am wondering if a stronger anti-sway bar or shocks would help I only have about 40K on the car 30 K when I bought it and it's drove the same the whole time so I don't realy think shocks are the cause,.....maybee it's normal

Unfortunatly the warrenty is just a distant memory. Its not bad enough for me to get to excited about right now,I'm working on another project right now once I get that taken care of I'll start looking more into the suspension. Possibly a stiffer swaybar & new shocks for sure.

Just remember that the stiffer you go in the back the easyer it will be to hang it out there in the turns!!

I'll have to agree with frush...its unfathomable to me, for a stock car to rub the bottom of the bumper on the ground. Just thinking of how that would look makes me wonder what the hell are you smoking. But I work on cars all day, and i have seen some crazy things, so maybe it can do that . i don't know, but if it is that then you have a major problem.
