Prelude SiR

So today afterwork, a good buddy and I squared of a few times just as friendly exhibitions to see how well my car would do. He's got a 90's model Honda Prelude SiR with fully built motor and all the bolt on goodies one could probably have, plus a gutted interior. I took a ride and it sounded and road mean. Nice car and I have deep respect for it. I have a 5 door svt fully stock aside from a k&n filter drop in. On the highway we did a roll from 3rd and I pulled ahead of him 2 out of three times. 2nd time is was hesitant and waited for him to go first so I lost out on that one. Then we did a run from a dead stop and I pulled on him during 3rd again and took off again. He said he was really confused with my driving since he did not know if I was stopping or not. I feel I was shifting quite shortly and definitely did not gun it like I should have from the stop. All in all first time experience, but he gave me props for my skills. Felt really interesting seeing as how he does this quite often. Do you guys believe the k&n made such a difference? I do plan on getting Tom's tune as soon to knock off that traction control issue, but can I expect a stronger difference than this time?

-art

I don't think the drop-in did that much of a difference. U will obviously see better performance with Tom's tune.

all the bolt on goodies and a fully built motor with stripped interior. That would rape you with or without your drop in. I call bs

Hey, I was there. I know I was in front at the end a few times and so was he. When we stopped to talk afterwards he was really amazed by the focus. That's all that matters. True story, believe it or not.

I believe it because I pulled on a 2000 model and it had a cat-back, not sure if it had any other mods. He was trying his best to take me but I steadily pulled on him. I'm sure that guy was thinking "what the hell kind of Focus is that???"

Yup I have beat like 5 preludes and all except one was the last generation. I lost to one and it was one that was owned by frisbee performance shop. It was sweet a sick turbo charged one I just wanted to see how quick he was. He didnt want to race cuz he would beat me. But I told him if I needed to Ide use my nos (dont have nos). So I let him kick my kester lol just to see how big of balls it had.
