They're pretty close in the quarter. But on the best test, the highway test, I think the VW wins. There is just something about a turbo that makes it better in that respect. Maybe its the ppppssssstttt sound?

I pulled on my friend's 1.8t gti.............neither of us are/was stock and we raced from a roll till about 45 mph..........but i definatley pulled on him

He must of had one sick turbo, cause even if you just do one mod to his turbo (chip), his HP jumps up to 220 which blows any focus in a straight line race.
Highway they definately shine, the gearing and turbo power/torque just helps them pull like non other.
Ive heard of GTI's with less then 2k in mods pulling on V-8 bimmers.

yeah i've seen some vids of that, the turbo in those has a lot of potential if you put the money, time and effort into 'em

He doesn't have the chip, but he always talks about it, and will probablly get it in the near future.............he has an intake, an exhaust and a short shifter..........

from what I saw in the quarter mile comparisons, a GTI was 4 tenths faster in the quarter. thats an eternity. Unless the VW guy cant drive, they should win. but the SVTF holds a better skidpad. twisties? focus should win.
