Mashed a Jetta ...

Not sure what year, prolly somewhere between '00 and '02 (anyhoo, its about a 1/2" off the ground, debadged with a fat, loud exhaust) ... we started out in some pretty thick after work traffic, and at one of the lights, I guess he catches a glimpse of my Ford Racing sticker --- I've discovered, nothing inspires fury quite like a Ford Racing sticker (he, he).
Anyhoo, at his first available option, he scorches around me and flys on down the road. I know this section, and I know that if he wants to go, he'll wait until it opens up. Well, it finally opened up onto this stretch of RT50 in FL that is nothing on either side of you but gators and swamp. Anyhoo, he was in front of me and he guns it to pass this c0ck blocker on the right; I do the same to keep up but it was hairy because this big @zz SUV was crawling in the left lane --- I skooted through but mr jetta decides to just take off with an easy 500 ft lead, maybe a little more.
I'm like whatever, because there is nothing in front of us for as far as you can see ... and again, we are on a stretch of road with no houses, no intersections, just straight glorious asphalt --- So I knocked her into 4th and began my pursuit. I rarely like to crack the century mark but since he was afraid of my middle gears, I guess he figured he could blow me away top end (he, he, he) ... anyhoo, I pounced on him like a wounded gazelle, passing him at 105 before shutting her off at 120 --- about 3 car lengths ahead ... then after I cooled it back, he gives me the ole ricer flyby, which was kinda weird because he was driving a german car.

Mods = Hypnotic's SCT tune; Screaming Demon coil and wire package; Denso Iridium ITV24's; FR STS; VF rear mount; ported TB; Custom wing; VIS CF vented hood; Hypnotic's SRI; SCO 4 gauge grounding wires and ORP ...

The R32 is also like $30K.

Just checked, base price is $29K (close enough to $30K for me).

OT: The R32

An R32 would eat a stock and even mildly modded SVT's for lunch any day... with a crappy driver!
Maybe a "low carb" lunch.
On our rather long 2 mile AutoCross track:
R32 - 1:51.01
Me - 1:52.64
And, another SVTF - 1:52.89

Granted, the R32 barely had 1,500 miles on it, though the guy is a good driver.
He HATES the Goodyear Eagle F1's that came on the car. Maybe that's why we were so close.
