interior inspection
i'm assuming that before a race they do a full inspection of your ride, outside and in
so my question is about my seat, some of you might know about the foam in the 05-07s. needless to say, mine was one of the ones that sucked after warranty [slap]
it's torn so that a metal brace is unprotected on the back support part of the seat, i know this is unsafe. i'm working on getting new seats, i just wanna know if i'm going to be able to race opening day with how it is now?
if not, i'm gonna really have to cut back on the budget to get the seats sooner.

p.s. i really want new seats and was planning on getting them anyway, so no fixing these or getting another oem. thanks again.

Might not be an issue. Most race seats are a welded aluminum tub with a thin pad for "comfort". The idea is to keep the driver in place. Padding and comfort are optional.

Both events I have been too they don't inspect the car that thoroughly.

Whenever I do tech inspections, I just look for loose items, and check the pedals. I wouldn't turn someone away for their seat not being comfortable.

mikebontoft 02-13-2010 12:18 PM

don't you guys tape all of the doors (like glove box I mean) shut as well?

Juantron 02-13-2010 12:22 PM

I've never seen anyone do that, we don't enforce any taping in our club unless its to keep the numbers on the side of your car.

mikebontoft 02-13-2010 12:25 PM

ah ok. I just saw someone's video that had some stuff up top taped up
