SVT: Born to autocross
I've autocrossed my GSX at a handful of events, so I'm by now means an expert yet, and I've never come close to winning an event in SM with the car.
Yesterday I decided to run a smaller SoloII event with the SVTF and after the first heat I was ahead of everyone in GS by over 2 seconds. this was with a bone-stock 5door with no weight removed.
The car handles and brakes like a dream out on the course, and after winning my class I'm all fired up to go racing again. :)

Ya the suspension on the SVT is great not to mention it's geared for track racing. I've won my class a couple times in solo II it feels great but i don't have an SVT.

shadrach, where did you run at and what is coming up for the rest of the season. I used to run a VW Rabbit back in the mid-80s and I was thinking about trying out my SVT.

Auto-X is definately fun. I'm sitting second in points in my class in SCCA solo 2. There is a mini that I cant touch, though.

I ran with the Salt Creek Sports Car Club at Joliet Junior College. The Joliet SCC will be running an event there next Sunday, and Salt Creek will have their next event at Lake Geneva Speedway the foloowing Sunday.

Most people don't realize the SVT is a track car not a drag car

Thanks for the info shadrach. I used to belong to Salt Creek. I've decided to go up to Milwaukee this Sunday and run wit the club up there. I'm going to try and make the event at Lake Geneva too. Lake Geneva is a fun place to run.
