Product Review: Armor All Wheel Protectant
This stuff is advertised to apply easily and last for about a month. It's supposed to repel brake dust and make wheels so they can just be hosed off with water instead of washed individually.
My experience: none of this is true. For starters this stuff was a major PITA to apply. You spray it on, wait about 30 minutes, then wipe it off similar to any sealant. It sprayed on OK, but when it came to wiping off, it dusted like crazy. It took some serious elbow grease to get it all buffed off as well. When it was all buffed off the wheels didn't even look spectacular as I expected. I figured it would be worth it when it came time for the next wash; it wasn't. I found exactly no difference in ease of cleaning. Wheels still needed to be cleaned one by one individually as usual.
I considered that my experience may be different from others due to the fact that my wheels are powdercoated as opposed to chrome or painted. They are also matte but NOT textured. No where on the bottle does it say about not using it on this type of wheel.
I expected more considering it's about $10 for a bottle. Will not purchase again.
