Do our cars use special plugs because of the compression of the engine? I am getting the screamin'demon coil/livewire setup and it lets you increase the gap in plugs to get more power/gas mileage but I was thinking of upgrading the plugs while I'm at it also if I can use normal ones...ie splitfires, bosch plats etc

In my opinion, stay away from (splitfire,bosh,champion) or anything that's not made for our cars, SVT plugs are different than the ZX3's, even though you can still use ZX3 plug's there not the same and is not recommended, if your going with FI, then get (NGK) colder plug's.
To me Iridium plug's is a waist of $.

and while we're on the subject what si the SVTF's spark plug gap? the coil pack/wires I'm getting lets you set the gap to .065"...just curious what the standard SVT gap is
I found better results with the s/d by keeping plugs gapped to stock setting. You might want to check before you get s/d, alot of people have been unhappy with it.

so did you get any good things from them? like gas mileage throttle response etc... if their product doesnt do anything I will send them back, so if I gap my plugs and the system doesnt work as it should they are going back, but from everything I have read they seem to work great with the .065" gap /shrug
They might be better now but when they first came out they had alot of problems. I gapped my plugs to .065 with it and car ran noticeably slower, then I regapped to stock settings and it felt alot better. No real gains, I sold it.

humm thats weird since the gap is what makes it supposidly burn more effieciently for power/mileage hehe well I hope they work now =)

Please let us know how it goes after the install. I was also thinking about purchasing the Demon coil packs.

aye if I dont notice any difference with them if they dont take um back I'll try to sell them or trade them to a regular zetec focus owner since they do work good on the regular engines...maybe I can find someone who has the steeda svt shifter to trade hehe
