I started classes today, I'm going to school to be a BMW tech, and in addition to a 7 series, a 6 series, a Z3 and a few other BMW's, I got to see this in the garage...

And well, I want it. My professor told me that it's not yet released to the public, so that made me want it even more. So friggin wicked awesome.

And now pictures!

A little bit off topic...how hard/much time does it take to go to school to be a BMW tech?

I was a little sad to read they tuned a lot of understeer into the suspension, tho I completely understand why. The looks are killer, I think BMW's softening their sporting intentions tho. Then again its not the M3 now is it.

I just started the program today, so I'm not really sure how hard it really is, it's not gonna be easy though. And the program I'm in is a 2 year program. One thing I do love about the program though, is that my school takes it so seriously, so there wont be anyone [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]g things up and they'll train us the right way.

Ah, lol, one more question...before starting that program, what other schooling did you take? Cause i'm assuming it's not exactly that easy to train to be a bmw tech.

Nothing. All I know is what I learned on my own. This program takes no previous schooling. A few of the kids in the class are fresh out of high school. You can go in with no previous expierience with cars whatsoever.

one of the major magazines (Road & Track i think) hinted that the horsepower figure is very underrated. they dynoed it and came to the conlusion that it has closer to 350hp.

Really? That's good to know [thumb] I might have to look into that myself.

And good luck handling all those BMW's...throughout the 2 years i'm sure you'll see/drive/work on cars that a lot of us can only dream of. And every once in a while take pictures of some of the cars...especially the not-so-public ones ;)

I want to see pics of the engine bay if it's the twin turbo model.

i would assume so, since they rate it at 300hp, but its got times close to the previous generation M3. But maybe not, BMWs have magic engines after all. lol

Trust me when i first saw the coupe in that sick blue color they are advertising it in, and then i found out it was going to have a twin turbo, i was like thats my car, i dont need an m3. The engine is probably so efficient too, having two turbos. Oh and hes lying, the cars been out since the beginning of sept to the public lol.

Haha, I'm not lying, just stating what my professor told me. So my professor is lying (or is just old and crazy). And thanks for editing the title. And I'll see if I can get some engine pictures, and some pictures of the other cars in my shop (like the $130,000 V12 760LI...might be wrong about the price, just what I was told, but it's amazing).

The 335 is underrated so it doesn't compete with the M3. ;)

Of course, people buying an M3 will probably realize that the 335 performs almost as well for much less money.

Of course, I'd rather have an NA engine over a twin turbo setup any day.
