So I Have a 5" Tach installed right.....yeah , i know, why when u already have one right, well, Just because, but anyway.....there a green wire thats supposed to hook up to the current one or something liek that so i can read the RPMs....but i dont know which one. I tried...well, i thought i tried, all the wires in the back of the cluster, but obviously i missed something. I tried wiring diagrams but that was not much help. ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS???
Im sure at least ONE person has one hooked up that can help me[:D] ..................

oh i see what your talking about now.. yeah dude we can do that this weekend.. this sat..
we can test all the wires.. we can find it.. no biggie.

i always thought it was the black wire with a green stripe in the plug that goes into the coil pack. there is 3 wires in it and its not the middle one :-) thats what i used for a remote starter tach. i think that the tach in the dash is a computerized signal from the ecu, you'll never find that wire!

The coil pack is where the spark plug wires are connected.
I looked over my wiring manual, its not detailed enough.

Twofocused, As Far as I know, Im in for both the car show and Skyline. I did a few mods these last two days I want you to check out sat. I think there pretty nice.
Craigtuner.....Tach Driver? explain. Im kinda new to all this.
I got the Tach working with splicing it to the black with green wire, but the RPM reading for the 5" is half of the real RPM reading on the stock cluster.....I can just work with that unless someone knows how to double it?? also, it could just be the tach is F#@&ed up.

This is a device you need to hook up an aftermarket tach to 99 + fords with a coilpack/distributorless ignition. unless your tach is desighned for a coilpack ignition.
as for the 1/2 rpms it is reading now, if you have a compatible tach then check to see if it is set for 4 cyl, not 8,10,12

im having a problem as well how do i attach the green wire to the spark pug thingy or watever you call it? need help please?
