I was BSing with my neighbor today, who works at The cleveland engine plant, and this is some info he told me. As far as engines go the new 3.5 is reserved for the Edge, 500, freestyle, and zephyr..NOT the fusion...dammit. He said they've been working on a new deisel which may be possibly offered in the F-150 in the future. The fusion should be getting VVT soon, as it was supposed to have it in the first place. There was a V-8 engine that was recently scrapped (It may or may not be the Hurricane, He called it the romeo engine. Not sure). It also sounds like ford is going to be avoiding V8's for the most part. Apparntly the 4.6 is going to be dropped leaving the 5.4 for the GT mustangs and trucks. The V-10 is possibly on the chopping block as well. The core engines Ford will run with will be 3.0, 3.5, a new 3.7 that i guess they've been working on. He said it probably will be supercharged and offered in the trucks, and also the 4.0 which i guess theyre going to bump to like 320 or 330 hp. The most interesting thing though is that there is a rumore going around the Cleveland plant that Ford and Nissan hae been in talks about a CO-OP where Ford would do the trucks and Nissan would do the cars...not sure how I feel about that. 2 of my uncles also work at the plant, i'm going to give them a call and see if they have heard anything about that.
