Zarelli6 03-15-2004, 06:58 PM so tell me, removing the headliner, maybe an eighth of an inch thick peice of fabric to put in a heavier cf headliner?
QuikSilverZX3 03-15-2004, 10:34 PM i dont car if its heavier, im defineatly gonna buy it, although its 500 better put it on my wish list for right now, but my scheme for my foci is white car with gun metal rims and all carbon fiber...... so the headliner fo rme is a must
ZETEC3 03-15-2004, 10:36 PM Its beautiful.....I must have it.
rockthezx3 03-15-2004, 10:40 PM That's so awesome.
FocusMan7 03-15-2004, 10:50 PM :( I have a sunroof
Infra3sv 03-16-2004, 12:02 AM I don't know if it just replaces the fabric. It looks like it replaces the whole molding. I'm not sure if this would save any weight.
PinkFreek 03-16-2004, 01:06 AM wow thats gorgeous!! too bad i got a 4dr lol...that would look great though!!

I think you're missing the point. Most people here own foci as their daily drivers and a few pounds doesn't make a difference. ( A freakin thermos of coffee weighs a couple pounds!)
The point is that that thing is clear coated, polished carbon fiber, and that it's totally unique.
P.s. does anyone know where to get those other than on ebay?
XxDRIVERxX 03-16-2004, 08:27 PM Looks great, But To much $ IMO.
You can prob get it off there site, (link if ebay thing)

Edit: changed my post so no one thinks im buying one.
Sharpening_Beneath 03-16-2004, 09:31 PM DO IT, thats way different from anyother thing i havbe seen....
sexy2002svt 03-16-2004, 10:32 PM don't think it's worth the moneyto put something on your car that you can't see unless you are sitting in the car and it does nothing for performace........ if you have a show car, and acutally show it, then get it
smoknzx3 03-16-2004, 10:49 PM I think it looks cool, but I think I will wait to see how it works out for one of you guys first. I think there is some kind of catch. Think about it $150 It's not too much smaller then a hood, I've never seen a hood for that little. Just seems a little cheep to me.
smoknzx3 03-16-2004, 10:51 PM ooops I take that back it's up too $202 and the reserve hasn't been met yet. Might cost a few bucks! Not to mention $150 for shipping
crazy_urn 03-17-2004, 09:25 PM i dont understand the whole carbon fiber thing personally. i will give you points for being differnt if you install it. but i personally think that that 500 bucks or whatever could be spent in differnt ways that you would actually be able to see more. just my .o2
lakerdave10 03-17-2004, 09:53 PM I agree with Crazy_urn. I would spend that money some where else. But then again I'm a college student with no money, so $500 bucks to me is like $5,0000 to you.
focuson03 03-17-2004, 10:00 PM ^^^ good call dave, us poor college students. . .
crazy_urn 03-17-2004, 10:06 PM im too broke to me a college student, lol....
yeah, what little money i have goes to paying for the car. i cant waste 500 bucks on a mod no one sees.
Zarelli6 03-17-2004, 10:19 PM yeah i was driving to work today and out of curiousity i checked to see how thick that is, and i do think that hte headliner may save a pound or so. haha but its mostly for looks though. the headliner is about half an inch thick.

i suppose its expensive weight reduction so your car doesnt look like trash.
QuikHAtCH 03-18-2004, 04:18 PM I'll bet ya anything it doesn't fit well. Just look at all the problems people have with carbon hoods.
carbon boys 04-17-2004, 04:19 PM Here is there web site www.topshopheadliners.com and i have herd very good things about them.
Silver_PZEV23 04-17-2004, 08:34 PM I would never buy that for myself but It looks really cool.

Katulec 04-18-2004, 05:21 AM a decent idea. seems a little overboard for me so i wouldn't put it in my car as it wouldn't look right (heh, wouldn't even fit cuz i have a sedan) and i agree with most when i say that it's too expensive and i'd rather use the money for other things
DidHeFocus? 04-20-2004, 12:09 AM What a waste of time and money! Your car will sound like an echo chamber and be very noisy.
The cloth headliner does a lot to keep the car quiet.
QuikHAtCH 05-01-2004, 05:40 PM how would you get that into the car?
XxDRIVERxX 05-01-2004, 06:30 PM Thats a good question actually.. How would you get it in? Take out the front windshild?.. I dont think it would fit through the hatch(if you have a hatchback)
