Guys, im curious, how long did it take to install your JRSC on your focus? If you did it yourself, how long did the whole project take? If i satrted on a friday afternoon, can it be back running saturday or sunday?

I have the BBK and I was watching the baby in between installing and I started Friday and finished Sunday afternoon by going very slow and with no help.

so, me, and an experianced guy with all the tools, on a friday afternoon, we should be in good shape for crankin her up midday saturday or late saturday afternoon?


i just want to get the JRSC base for the svt, no big boost kit, i just need some boost. once i get that perfect, i will trick that mofo out.

You should be able to knock it out in half a day or so, unless you're like me, and everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. The JRSC is really straightforward, and there's not a whole lot to it. It's a real smash and grab job. If you have the tools, and have an ounce of common sense, you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck.

ok, what can possibly go wrong? like problems with your car? and what is neccessary to get the intake manifold off? and does the whole thing come off? i have an svt. do i need to loosen the motor mounts, and jack it up?

I replaced the CAT on mine the same time as I did the JRSC, so I removed it first. I found that by taking out the CAT you have a lot more space to work with if you are below the car. Even if you do not change out the CAT, it will save a lot of time to take it off until you are done. Just spray the bolts with something like WD40 for a few days before you start.

No need to jack up the engine.

To take off the intake is just a few bolts and clamps and then you have to remove the studs. No biggie. Just read the intructions slowly and carefully and remember to tighten all the clamps.

how does yours feel with the jrsc? i mean, when launching, if you dont do it just right, it rips rubber doesnt it? what is your impression of it? is the base s/c for around 2,700 is it worth it, or do you wish you went turbo, or with a different kit? and when you say a few bolts, does that mean, like 4-6, or 8-12? ive never really looked.

I did not get my JRSC to to racing. I wanted the car to be more drivable in the TX summer heat when I run the AC. That said, you will DEFINATELY feel the difference. I can have the car in 6th gear at 40mph and pick up speed when I give it some gas or I can smoke the tires if I feel like it and all the while get between 24 and 28 mpg in the city if you do not get to lead footed with it.

I went with it since it is one of the few kits that is CARB legal, comes with a tune, is very easy to install and is reliable. No I do not whish for a turbo, although sometimes in the 95 + deg weather I wished for a intercooler.

If I remember correctly between 6 and 10 nuts and studs on the intake, plus the clamps for the rubber boots.

I am so jealous... I really want one of the BBK kits... good luck with the install!

man, i want it so bad. i dont have one yet, im just checking on what all is involved with the install. hopefully in a few months i will get one straight from JR. my new exhaust (HKS Hi Power) made my car so much fun to drive again. you know what i mean. you get used to a new part, then, its just evryday. then, a new opart is added, and you can tell a difference in something, and it just makes it fun again!

it took me and my friend about a day and a half to install it... ive only driven like 250 miles on mine and might take it back off to sell it because the situation im in rite now of moving and going to school soon i cant afford to have forced induction....i need the money, let me know if your interestered its the jrsc bbk brand new only 250 miles on it

took the lame ass shop that did mine 2 weeks, granted they also did clutch/flywheel but they pulled the whole engine out to "make it easier". Needless to say, i havent been back recently.

i work in a clean up shop, and make little to nothing. i mean, it takes me a while to get money, so how much you lookin at sellin it for? when you take it off, i might drop a deposit. :D
