Some idiot who shouldnt be allowed to drive backed into my car yesterday at KFC, wouldnt be that bad except it was chevy truck, so it rolled right onto my hood, so I need a new hood and bumper for my 2000 ZTS, and I was wondering if there was anyone on here that had modified there car, and would be willing to part with the stock stuff, let me know, please!!!! The most I can get from them is 500, and it was quoted at 1400 worth of damage, so please help a brother out, and if it happens to be a black focus, even better, that is what mine is.

wouldnt the chevy guy's insurance pay for the damage to your car???? Couple months ago someone in a toyota truck backed into my focus in a bojangles parking lot causing $1200 worth of damage and every penny was covered by his insurance. (including rental car fees)

It should be covered under insurance, whether or not its a no fault state or not.

well, here is another reason that michigan sucks a$$, since I have plpd, the most I will get is 500 from his insurance company, I got a quote for 1400 from a dealer, I know that dealer is the most expensive, but that is what I am sending to his insurance company, I am actually planning on doing everything myself, except if painting is involved, I wont touch that, especially since my car is black, and black is one of the most unforgiving colors, mess up once and everyone knows.

Is Michigan a "no-fault" state, and you elected NOT to carry collision coverage?

Michigan IS a no-fault state, and apparently he's not carrying collision coverage. The $500 he can get is for a "mini-tort" - the maximum you can get from the other party's insurance company, under such circumstances, without actually suing them for damages.

Yeah, no doubt, the way I see it, you hit someone, you pay for the damage. Yeah, I cant afford collision on the peanuts they pay me at work, but thats ok! cause hopefully I will be getting a new job soon, I work at a warehouse that sees people as equipment, one quits or breaks, get another one, we have guys there that have been working there for 5 years and have only gotten about 55 cents in raises, thats bogus, I have only been there 7 months and that was about 6 too long, If I get this job (shouldnt be hard, my gf's mom would hire me) I will go from 9 and hour to 14.75 woohoo!

ok, so i can get you a brand new hood for $100. and a brand new bumper for $100. that leaves you $300 to get them shipped and painted

think you can do that? the paint should be about $200. so it might work out great for you.

Ship the items thru greyhound. Its about 75 bux from one station to teh other with big items. They call the recieving party when the item/s arrive and you go pick them up.

well, thanks, but I found a hood for 85 over here, and it was a grill that I needed, I just need to have the bumper resurfaced, all it is is surface stracthes, except one that dug in, so I will just try to sand those out and paint it, thanks for looking though
