with a zx3 head (non svt) and SVt bottom end how compression will this be.

~8.9:1 with SVT gasket

~9.2:1 with Zetec gasket

thanks for the info

I have a SVT engine and I'm thinking of using the bottom end for boosting.

That will depend on what head gasket you use the SVT head gasket will give you a lower compression because it is a thicker head gasket , the head itself from what i remember is the same CC

i would get ahold of mcnews and talk to them about a head gasket

I don't think it'll be that low...zx3 and svt heads have similar combustion chamber volumes, the increased compression on the svt is due primarily to the pistons, so it'll be closer to 10:1 unless you change the pistons out

so If I used (could I??) a ZX3 head gasket, I would up the compression?? What would it jump to if any?

it would jump maybe .2-.3 tops

I was told on SVT Perforance Id end up with 11.7:1

I think that's a bit of a stretch...the head gasket isn't THAT much thicker

Im thinking the math put the SVT HG at .5/.6 higher or lower on compression meaning ZX3 with SVT HG would be .5 lower and SVT with ZX3 HG would be .5 higher
