I am trying to sell my Focus but I have never sold a car that wasn't completely paid off. I just want someone to take over payments or just pay the payoff.

I know it sounds silly but any help or suggestions would help.

There are several ways to go about it, though you need to be careful wanting someone to simply take over payments. If you owe XXX $$$ on your loan and receive XXXX $$$ from the sale, simply take the payoff amount to whoever financed your vehicle (local credit union, bank, or in the case of a finance arm of a manufacturer (FordCredit, GMAC, etc). you'll typically send them a check for the payoff. Any excess you keep, of course. Any shortfall, you'll have to come up with. If you are in a title holding state, once the finance company/bank receives your payoff, they'll forward the title to you, so then you can sign off it for the new owner. Then they can get the car titled in their name at your local DMV, etc.

I want $10,000 even. I'm going to be building a Factory Five Coupe (I already have a GTM) so I will need the driveway space. Plus the wife said it has to go if I get the new car. So I just want to break even since my wife won't let me have all my toys.

Hope you get some pics posted of that FF when you get it complete. I'd love to see it !
