Hey guys, I recently had a accident in the focus and have some questions about my experience so far with it getting fixed. First and foremost, is there any way to tell if the hood/front bumper are ford replacement or aftermarket? Any stampings or special brackets or welds? The hood feels awfully different and more flimsy than the OEM one that was on the car. Also, the front bumper doesnt seem as strong and is more wobbly. Also, the hood latch is different. It is a bosch, but has a spring loaded tension type pin that sticks up. I'm sure this is just from a newer year. Is there ANY way possible to check these body panels to see if they are aftermarket replacements? I know it is illegal!

Also, they replaced the whole dash since the airbags went off and I wonder if they replaced the gauge cluster also. (dont know why they would). Reason being that the brake and abs light stay on. I do not even believe the car has ABS, there is not even a fuse in the abs slot in the fuse box. Also, a guy at midas said it didnt have abs and told me either they put in a different cluster or maybe it has a bad ground. I remember seeing a thread about a guy who changed clusters and had this prob. Any imputs? No it is not low on fluid or pads as I just had a brake job. Also, no leaky inside the back drums.

Thanks guys!

Well just look to see if you can find any ford logos or part numbers on the hood and bumper. The number on the bumber will be on the inside of the bumper somewhere. Just look for the ford logo or part numbers on anything you think they replaced.
