Before i got my focus, i had a 96 turbo eclipse and i rolled it 5 times down the middle of the road and went in the ditch on my top a little ways, hit a tree that bent my right rear wheel strait out which flipped me back on top of my wheels and finally stopped after going 250 feet down the ditch. I was doing over 110 on country roads which was very stupid i know. i learned my lesson, trust me. so i bought a car that wouldnt go that fast [:D] . just kidding im very blessed. all i had was a black eye where i got knocked out. but anyway this guy told me that he could take my eclipse turbo and make me a manifold to fit my focus. i know i'll have to buy a new clutch, bigger injectors, 3" exhaust and probably a few more things. so what do you all think about this? good or bad?

Wow.....that is really wierd. I know a kid who lives in the same town as me and had an eclipse GS-T and he was out driving on country roads and tried jumping something and completely f-ed up his car. Damn that crazy.

And youll want all the things you listed along with an lsd and youll probably want to upgrade the suspension very soon too. You can pick up the injectors along with a 70mm MAF and tuning from tom at www.focus-power.com for around $850 I'd suggest doing that. And hey if he can mock you up a manifold I say go for it, hope he'll be able to make you some piping too otherwise youve also got that to worry about.

i think id go with a turbo made for the focus. the kits have everything you need and you dont need to worry about blowing up the engine.

well i would do that except its going to be cheaper since i already have the eclipse turbo. i would like to buy the kit but i dont have 4k right now

What turbo he uses wont have anything to do with blowing up the engine. As long as he gets proper tuning he'll be fine.

i was going to go thi s route and had the t25 out of my firends talon. needless to say look at my mods below, im nolonger doing it. i had everything i needed to do this except the manifold and fmu. fmu is costly. well where i am, no dynos around with chip burning hardware.

1. This is a zetec tuning section not the FI section.

2. Going cheap and hand made on a turbo kit is silly. If you are poor, save up.

he could make the kit, wuld be interesting to see how it comes out.. you would also need some sort of computer control. you could ask tom and see what hes got, i dont think he sells the mic kit unless you but a turbo kit from him. and theres also cfm has chips too. youd have to call them on that...

why go through all the trouble to get custom pipes and everything else he needs? save up and do it right.

Very good point, I am not against custom setups, I am against thinking it can be done for cheap.

well i just seen the thread for toms new kit. so i think i am going to try for that. sounds good to me same price as a super charger and 50 more whp and 70 more wtq or something like that.

I would get Tom's kit cheap and forced induction don't work well There was a guy a couple weeks ago who though the gude kit was a good idea cause it was cheap needless to say he had to buy a new motor I dunno I think its worth the extra money and not having to worry

if you know someone that's a expirenced as tom, and has built and tuned alot of various kits/cars, then get them to help you with the fmu. and that'd be a good idea. it'll be a expirence, but only worth it if you pay attention to certain things and do it right. i learnt this the hard way. only thing that'd held me back was the fmu. could get pectel but im not a millionaire. 2g's it cost at the time. anyhow parted out everything. between civic owners, and mitsu owners. all is gone.
