I power shifted and took off at 3200 and my time went from a 16.9 on my first ever run on a tree to 16.30 and 16.28 heres my timeslips

first was a test and tune and i won 2nd 4th my dial in was 16.38 for the second one and
16.23 for the rest

thank you guys for the advice it helped i need to be more consistant with my launches my slowest two of the week were because i launched low and it bogged a little and my run from last week i launched at 4k around 3300 seems to be magic

im gonna put on the offroad pipe i got on ebay when it gets here it ships on monday the guy said the only other thing i have is a k&n filter how much difference will i see from the offroad pipe and also will an intake make much difference?

and last but not least any advice on when to shift and for launching thanks

i can tell by your 60' times that you are having traction issues off the line. it will come more with practice but you need to get to where you see sub 2.2 60' times. your overall 1/4 time will drastically get better.

all i can say is practice practice practice. i have a sneaking supision that you are either shifting too early or too late too because i have bad traction issues but still get better 1/4 times and i dont have an svt.

also to show you that your car has more potential, looking back at one of my old time sheets i ran a 15.985 at 86.21 mph. you ran a slower time but were moving faster. if you compare my run to yours, you were catching up even before the 1/8 mile but i got off the line better. like i said it comes with practice.

Feather the clutch out from 5000RPM. If done correctly, you will not spin nor bog. SVT Foci should NEVER have a traction problem in NA form, seeing as they make so little power.

I know if I dump my clutch from 2000-2500 rpms when I launch I get shitttttttyyyyyyyyy wheel hop. I havent been to the track to try the 4k feather. WHen I got my fastest time I had a slight wheel hop from about 2500 rpm drop, I pushed the clutch back in and kept it floored and it helped considerably. I havent done a true feather, but Ive done some practicing from traffic lights and it does do quite well.

you should be doing much faster than that.

I'd be willing to bet he's bouncing off the rev limiter in 2nd, if not both 1st and 2nd.

Try shifting at the absolute latest RPM 6800, if you are on a stock tune, and 7k on a raised limiter.

You aren't gonna gain any time running all the way into the redline, and if you hit the limiter, it slows the car down, losing your momentum.
