: Need some ideas!!!!!!!!
ilovemyfocus 04-15-2006, 07:32 PM Hey guys! I need some ideas. I just bought a 2006 SPA SES ZX4 in February. It is cherry red and I need some ideas on what to do to this thing. I am a chic so it can't be that macho but something that will stand out. I did pick out a pair of black scorpion rims but now that I'm looking on here there are chrome and they look hot. There is no chrome at all on this car and I thought black would be a better choice. I am not putting money into this car until I definitely know what I want to do. SOOOOO, PlEASE help me out!!!! Thanks!!!!!
MattZX3 04-15-2006, 07:37 PM cold air intake, carbon fiber hood, window tint, system, exhaust, underdrive pullies, tint tails, bodykit.. the list is everlong, its up to you!!! and welcome to focus fanatics!! hope you enjoy it here!

alright then think long and hard about it and search search search. Black would look really good on a red focus, i think dark wheels with a polished lip look great b/c it seperates the rim from the tire. Gunmetal looks good too. Also pick up a set of svt springs, the st already has the same dampers and shocks basically, and the svt spring will lower the car a bit more.
Sinan 04-16-2006, 02:38 AM all I can say is start small and move up as you gain experience and ideas. Like for ex. paint your brake callipers and drums in a color that you wish, tint the windows, put rims etc...the small stuff that is the easiest to do.
Foci_Fosho 04-16-2006, 04:31 AM SPA Ses focus...
Did she mean SAP SES? (street appearance package)
If so, you won't be needing a bodykit in my opinion.
And I believe Eibach has a suspension kit for 2006.
Wait a few more months and more aftermarket will catch up as far as suspension is concerned.
For more power, I'd suggest a Cold air intake, and a cat-back exhaust for the time being. Both are simple easy mods that unleash more power from the duratec for a total cost of $500 of less.
nomoreavril 04-16-2006, 05:16 AM theres not really things that make a car look manly....do whatever goes for you. look at that chicks pink (supra?) in fast and the furious 2....hey....my girlfriend loves those movies...she watches them all the time...dont ask
so officially no matter what i do to my focus....it will always be 'cute' to her...[?|]
project2point 04-16-2006, 07:13 AM SOME BLACK ROTA RIMS,carbon fiber hood, lower, intake, header, exhaust, then if you want more power cosworth makes a sweet intake manifoldthen i would get a throttle body and a tune. i suggest focus sport for your header/exhaust or the hks exhaust and cosworth header, Fs is running a sweet deal on the header flex buy the header and get the flex for free.
all of this will put you in the ball park of
4,000 bux but you would have a sweet focus!!
project2point 04-16-2006, 07:15 AM here is the link to the head/flex combo, http://focussport.com/headers.htm
welcome to FF
Timmeh! 04-16-2006, 09:47 AM well you could start off with Intake and Exhaust then later you could get a header if you wanted....
personally i think that glossy black rims with a polished lip look sweet, but if you stapped for cash you can always paint them yourself:

also do some interior work cause that's cheap, easy, and it makes a HUGE difference:

from there, definetly go with a good sound system or something.
just check out what others have done and see what you like! then go for it! good luck. you gotta put up pics when you get thigs done.
kickstar 04-16-2006, 10:13 AM black rims with a polished lip on a red car??=HOT HOT HOT!! i am a girl too, so i hear ya on the whole manly thing, i always get comments like, "is that your mans car?" and i'm like hell no, its all mine! check out my gallery, i have an 05, it might give you some ideas! :)
nomoreavril 04-16-2006, 10:25 AM isnt changing your header illegal since it has a cat on it?
Timmeh! 04-16-2006, 10:33 AM nope, not unless you get the full 4-2-1 racing header, the shorty's are emissions legal as far as i know.
besides if you don't need to get a smog tests in your state no one will ever know!
emissions laws in MI almost dont exist, one of my friends has been running a 94 Stang with no cat for almost a year now! but hey you don't have to get a header, cat-backs are great
burninbright 04-16-2006, 11:31 AM what exactly do you mean by "i'm a chick so it can't be that macho"?[nono]
as for the ideas...i have a Toreador Red focus with black rims...my whole theme is black & red. i must say it has worked out nicely. there are so many things you can do with your car, the list is endless...just do some research, ask some questions & go for it!
Timmeh! 04-16-2006, 11:43 AM yes i muct say the black & red theme works REALLY well on a focus
Sinan 04-16-2006, 04:15 PM I < my ZX3,
where did you get your seat covers? Me want! I've been looking for good seat covers for a month now - and these match my exterior color too...
HaveBlue83 04-16-2006, 04:24 PM just have a plan for what you want........so you dont "un-do" a bunch of stuff later [thumb]
I have a 3 stage plan.....with some other things in between......
sinclair 04-19-2006, 08:29 PM do an awsome 2 tone paintjob on it n add rims n a body kit should look nice or somethin like that maybe em stickers that add 50 hp lol jkjk
eddiebrock71 05-08-2006, 11:19 PM Well, if you want to lower your focus, you have the option of Steeda lowering springs, 1.5 inch. I spoke with them last week, and they were at -4 sets. So there could be a wait. I understand Eibach will have some springs in June, but I have not confirmed it with Eibach. NO one has shocks for the 2006 focus. Rumor has it Eibach will have some this fall, and Tokicko has an adjustable set in development.
You can lower your car without the shocks, but I would not recommend it. Lets face it stock shocks suck, they are not valved and adjusted for that level of drop, and increase in spring rate. They will work, but probably will be bouncy. Plus, you will save some money if you do them at the same time.
Wheels are a great option. Now you have to go with something you like. Weight is important, if you want to keep near the same gas mileage and acceleration. Increasing the weight of the tire and wheel will decrease those two. Decreasing the weight of the combo has the opposite effect. If you like polished aluminum, Centerline has some nice 6 spoke rims, aluminum polished, and right now they have overstock, and you can pick them up for about $159 dollars. They only weigh 13.6 lbs. If you have the 16 inch rims now they weigh 19.1 lbs. Svt wheel 20.3 lbs approx. OZ Ulteggra about 16 lbs. Rota's are nice.
You can get your seats leatherized, or seat covers. If its a stick, svt pedals work, you can also get the leather shift boot, and ebrake in leather. Its a nice touch.
Window tinting is always a plus.
Shifter knob
Hood scoop or hood, if you want to change the look.
Personally, with the SAP I would want to get some wheels, because I think it is too much car for 16 inch wheels or 15 inch wheels.
Performance wise, CAI. I think K&N has one, Steeda has a filter kit.
You have so many options.
Figure out if you want to do appearance or performance. And then start from there. Of course, some things like wheels and lowering accomplishes both.
I am new to the Focus, and found out the market is slow for the 2006. When I had my GT mustang, I did every thing right on that car, of course it was pricey, but I got awesome looks and performance was awesome. I was not set up for speed but handling, my ex took that before I got the engine work done.
Just figure out how much you want to spend, and you will be okay
