X-Type is based on the mondeo/contour, which shares many platform components with C170. the Jag system is also better because it maintains some 70/30 FWD/RWD split at all times, compared to the Excape (using Volvo system) that is fully FWD unless slippage is determined. However as said before you would be looking at a huge amount of money .. buying a cheap subbie is much cheaper, and you nd up with better car.
