As the title says, we have a meet being organised for Saturday april 22nd.

So far the plans are including a night at the track, and what ever anyone else can come up with.

I will be arriving in Montgomery on the 21st and me and my fiance' will just have the weekend up there.

I MIGHT be able to get a few friends to go (non foci) but it will just make the competition a little better at the track.

Anyone want to do a friday in BHAM, then saturday in the gump? Seems like if some people cant make one or the other place, we can chill and g2g friday night. Catch a movie or dinner as a group, show off. Then head down to the gump about midday, chill and then hit the track?

i might be able to go, it is kinda a far jog for me but if i drive i think i can manage [wiggle] ...if friday is more acceptable for everyone we can do it then..or we can meet up on saturday and everyone can stay for sunday, cuz test and tune is all day long sunday (if yall prefer the daylight)

One meet is in B-Ham (friday) then you guys will drive to Gump Saturday. I will be in Montgomery on Friday till sunday.

Hey just so all of you guys know, the place I work doesn't schedule overtime until the Monday before the weekend that we have to work so I won't know for an absolute certain that I'll be able to make it until the Monday before the 21st. Also, I work third so when I head down to Bham, I'm going to get me a room somewhere so that I can crash for about four hours or so. I have a Steeda short throw shifter and a VF tranny mount. Then 20% tint and a shorty antenna.

The plant I work for is starting to go through some....changes.lol I work for PEMCO International and they're closing the home office in Baltimore, MD and making our plant the new USA HQ. I'm not sure if they will have the shift changes implemented or not but I should know something by the end of this month.

i thought you were coming to my meet on the 5th.... if thats what you are talking about, then i do not live near ATL. in fact i live about 2 hours south of it. and yes wayne is going up north on the 22nd.

well im pretty sure you will beat me because my fastest time so far is considerably slower than yours. im sure there is something wrong with my car as it idles like SH!T. i thought maybe it was because of the cams because it didnt do this before the cams went it. but i met up with a guy this weekend with the same cams and his is very quiet nice smooth idle. this leads me to believe there is something wrong with the head that was installed at the same time as the cams. but oh well, i'll still run it down the track.

hmm..i had a horrible idle for the longest time after the cam install, found out it was a vacuum leak, and now only very seldom does it bounce at idle, lopey sometimes, but not bouncey...and it took me aloooott of practice to get my times down, when i first got my cams and all my other goodies in the best i could muster was a 15.8 for the longest time, then got my shifting down, got new tires and such and thats what helped me out the most, power will only really help your top end

so whats the plan for friday? I need to know what time to head down (dell). Hang out, diner, movie, play run away from jon...oh wait, hes duratec now :P.

most tracks dont require a helmet unless you are running faster than a 14.000

If all goes as planned, I'm still looking at mechanical engineering right now, but we'll see I guess. I've got to take some math classes this summer to get a strong footing before I stand before the calculus firing squad. Can't actually attend, though, or I'll be a transfer student and my scholarships are void. I'll have to audit a class at one of the schools out here, or get a tutor.

And have you seen the Formula SAE team? I'm really interested in getting into that ASAP if I can.

talk to the dean or whatever of the engineering school. He's who i talked to and helped me a lot down there. I think...but not totally sure that its an class thing on when you get to work on the buggies and the shifter cart thing. I know when I was a freshman down there i wasnt able to work on it right away.

yea a bud in my engineering physics lab class was in that thing, he was damned gungho about that team..the thing does 0-60' in i think right at 3 seconds, its like driving an arial atom and way under tuned..they build a new one every year, my good friend is in the baha team, he seems to like that...the school came like 3rd outa 50 school in atlanta this past year, and thats with georgia tech havin a 60k grant from the school to build it apposed to our 25k...i would like to get into that formula team but just dont have the time to, and probably would never get to drive it..they take it to a big showcase in new jersey and autox them, sounds pretty cool

the biggest thing about the formula 1 team that makes it so integrated is that EVERYONE has a different task, i mean one guy works on the nose, the left tire, the exhaust..there are sooo many tasks to be done on that thing because everything is manufactored from scratch and completeley carbon fiber if im not mistaken...the baha team is mostly one group effort, but with the forumula one, everyone works separatley and then comes together at the end

it raced at some of the autox's we had up here. It hauls, turns like stink and stops on a dime. Badass little project.

What's up with the "stock exhaust" thing in the MM rules? I assume you can slip under the radar on that one?

They're talking about how it's supposed to help get rid of street racing but all the cars that are qualified to street race wouldn't be eligible for the drag racing, they have to be street legal, no exhaust upgrades. Whoever wrote those rules wasn't thinking clearly.

I guess you could count me out since my clear corners aren't DOT approved, lol.

Sorry, Danny. I'm broke now. I'm saving up to get some engine mods, thinking about finishing the exhaust, intake, cams, and chip down the road. That's like what, $1600 roughly? Then I'll be just about finished, unless I wanted tranny upgrades and a power adder, which isn't likely.

I'm happy now with my bright silver wheels and most of the exterior... I've got a little too much show for my go, lol. If I hit the lottery sometime, 17" Superturismos all the way.
