There’s alot of us here that would love to have our Focuses be able to out perform all the new out of the box super compacts like the Honda SI, VW GTI Mk.5 & so on. How realisitic is that? What types of upgrades do we need, how much money do we need to spend, & Is it worth it.
How many of you out there has achieved it & would do it again if given the choice?
So if you suddenly have $25,000 to spend on a car...would you buy a different make car or would you buy a Focus & use the money you saved to add mods to the Focus to bring it up to speed.

$25,000? A Honda S2000 in a New York minute! (It might have to be used for that price though...)

youd need to o F/I and spend about 6grand. But the things you have to remeber when comparing these two is, one it will not be covered under warrenty, and it wont be as reliable as the other cars you could get that come just as fast outta the factory b/c they have been thru numerous testing.

love my focus, but supercharged cobra, here I come If I had an extra 25g's. But with insurance, I'd put the money in my savings account and buy a Vette in a couple years instead.

My brother has one pretty much modded and it pulls like a rape ape
those cars are fast but its always in the shop but u are right i think i would preffer a car under warranty

Engine:
I would call tom....and get his SICKEST turbo setup.....or get him to throw in a T-3/T-4 hybrid......and tune the SHIT out of it.......

Suspension:
coilovers, full Steeda tubular everything.....and BFG KDW's

interior.....mac Mini with flat touch-screen in center console, recaro/other racing seats........

and other goodies too.......[thumb]

IF I had anything left, i'd use the rest to pay off some of the car......

THEN I would be done...hehehehe

I would definitely get a different car with a $25K budget. The SVTF simply isn't worth used NSX/Boxster S, 996 (high mileage), E46 M3, etc. money. Just isn't, pure and simple.

But I think you could definitely beat those cars with less than $12K N/A. Cheap 2.3 ZX3 to start, Cosworth D3 engine, LSD, and Multimatic coilovers.

id buy a used mustang then drop ina big block in it lol

no way man. 88' dodge onmi turbo. keep it crapped on the outside and big boostin on the inside. maybe throw some nitrous on it. 11 second sleeper. id take the left over cash and go to taco bell.

With 25k I could buy and import an RS, maybe an new ST..... Just my 2 cents.

With 25K Id get an SER Spec-V and Mod it it. Always loved the Spec-V Specially the 2001 to 2003. Ive been thinkin bout trading the focus for a Spec-V even if it's a used one.
