So I'm waiting to get my oil changed on sat. morning......so I have fresh oil for the track day, and I see this silver wagon......looks kinda like a volvo, but not really...a LITTLE too rounded for that, and the rear tail lights are REALLY tall and skinny.....and the bumpers are short.......and it looks european.....especially with the orange side markers on the front fenders.....
SO i am looking at it.....looking....and I see the ford emblem on the center caps......


I don't know what it is...............So i get outta my car, and start walking around it...
...looks like the new foci front lights.....
....got a 5 speed in it......
...then, BINGO.....I get to the side B pillar.....a nice little Ghia emblem greets me.......now I know it's euro for SURE...

Mondeo on the back hatch...and TDCi on the right side.....Now that I know what the heck this thing is.....
Diesel too [thumb] cool...

It was in for a new lower front valance, the one on it was cracked...and they have to order it from Ford UK.....
It's an Officer on post (Blue Decal)........musta got it shipped from his last duty station over seas....

Ghia is top of the line in tha UK

What I want to know is how he got it approved by customs... I'm in Italy and it's common knowledge that we can't bring Euro Spec cars younger than 25 years old home without considerable expense to meet DOT standards. Hmmmm, might have to look into this more...

Ghia is a design firm in Italy. They've worked with Chrysler, VW, and Ford US in the past. The most known work they have done was with VW on the Karmen Ghia. (Which Stole it's design cues from a previous Chrysler that Ghia had worked on...)

Their even was a Mustang Ghia edition, or was it a the Capri??

The old Granada had a Ghia option. I'd like to find a 2-door myself. I'd prefer the 1st generation to the last one.
