I have a persistent very low frequency growling noise that does not seem to be a wheel bearing after all (is not affected by turning at all). Its defintely coming from the front of the car . I have checked the wheels for bearing play (there is none) , and the CV boots are all fine. There's no clicking of any kind
This growling, moaning is quite loud at speeds above 20 mph and stops at about 65 mph.
I need to go to the Ford dealer with this but I need to take a copy of the right technical service bulletins.
Does anyone have the text of the Ford TSB for "Noise from Right Halfshaft Support Bearing"? This is not in the ALLDATA files I had access too but is listed by NHTSA as posted by Ford in July, 2003. I think NHTSA entered wrong manusfacturer bulletin numbers.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS, -LIG
