at 89,000 miles on my 02 the dsi broke, You could hear the moter cycling the entire time the care was running. I unpluged the moter until I got the new lever. with the help of this forums how to I got the new part from my dealer, and replaced it with a few hours of work. The test drive went fine, then the next morning the engine light came back on, and when the car is first started you can here it cycling like 5 times? It never did this before. Any ideas? also a hint, use a screwdriver to pry out the dsi lever(?) and hit the shaft with a small hammer, as it was frozen on real tight.

I had that happen to me to. I fixed the DSI for the 2nd time when allof the sudden check engine light came. the code said that my Intake runner is "stuck" open. I took the left side fender apart (the plastc thats above the wheel where they stuck the motor for our runner and come to find that plastic part thats inside broke off and it grinded off whatever was left of the peace and now I don't know if that can be replaced seperatly or need to change the whole intake manifol?!?!?

The moter/cable asm can be replaced. I have not heard of a rebuild kit for it. I read that you can get them on the net for around $80, or pay the dealer around $150. I guess I will have to take everything apart again, and try to see if the cable moves when I hear it cycling.
