: Intermittent stalling, again....

Last year, I took my SVT in to the dealer for the YRF0 flash, for intermittent stalling, rough idle, etc.

Well, it is still doing it. Not as frequently, and only when it is cold out. I am sick and tired of this. I am about ready to sell the car...because I cannot take this anymore. I almost wrecked twice this past weekend. I cannot drive a car that I am not confident in.

What are my options? Will the dealer reflash the computer for me? It was done under warranty, and the car is still under warranty, so I the cost is no issue. I hate to go aftermarket, I just don't feel like spending money on that.

i'd go attempt to have it reflashed the best thing to do is to really let the car warm up meaning temp needle at half way and also the oil temp needle at half way.. ive started doing this about a month ago and i haven't had the car stall out on me. but do be careful it would suck if u got in a wreck cuz of that. good luck

do you have an aftermarket tune? like wayne's or tom's? that would only make sense to do that if you're tired of your car acting up like that

My car is in the shop for the samething right now. Mine does it all the time and it does it the most when it is cold outside. There saying I need a new PCM but we'll see what happens. If they do give me a new one and that still doesn't work i'm looking into getting an aftermarket tune b/c I'm tired of this S[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] as well.

I really don't want to spend the money for an aftermarket tune. I don't feel as though I should have to. The car is under warranty, so they should fix it until it is right.

I purchased this car because I was sick of dropping money every month into my previous car to make it right.

One thing you might try...the clutch pedal switch mod that folks have been doing...it will prevent the timing from backing off so hard when you hit the clutch and may help keep power to the engine and prevent it from stalling out. Worth a shot at least :)

BTW, Ford has never fixed this problem with any tune update...

Yeah well I took mine into the shop yesterday and they are saying they could not duplicate problem but they are going to try it again. So, I don't know how they are not having the problem I explained exactly when and how it does it. If they can't fix this I don't know what to do I have researching the lemon law because I'm telling this stalling is not safe, I almost ran into a gas pump the other day and was able to start it up just in time to turn!! I think what makes me mad the most is that they don't treat is seriously enough until I actually hit the damn gas pump and blow my self up.
