So I was cruising on a twisty back road today going to go take some pics finally of my car. So I was doing about 65mph on this road which is very twisty and has a lot of blind hills and turns. WEll anyways as I went over one of those blind hills there was a car right over the hill, and stupid me, the first thing i do is hit my brakes. Well i guess my front tires weren't really making contact all that well with the road so when the car came back down i started to sild. Thank god no one was coming in the other lane, because I wouldn't be talking to you guys right now. To make matters worse, I bent something on my car, so now when ever i turn its makes a weird thumping noise. But I got the pictures of my car so it wasn't all that bad, lol. Check my gallery for my pics. Oh I have some pics of the hill and my skid marks too.

some guy sent me into a skid on the freeway before, and you should have seen the treads I left. I had 255-50-17 (obviously not a focus) and they left some dandy treads. I could had killed the guy because he didn't even see me but whatever. Try to be careful, and I'm just waiting for the people to start flaming you saying you're dangerous and they don't wanna be on the road with you and all thqt bs.

Well I know it was stupid, and i rarely race or abuse my focus. Just today I guess I was playing the right music and I was just in the mood.

I'm not worried, it's not like I've never done anything stupid before, but some people go overboard I think on ripping on people who do stuff similiar to your story. I'm usually not one to race or whatever, but sometimes the mood just hits you. Sometimes at night, I like to go for a quick stint on the freeway if you know what I mean. [;)]

Glad you're ok and that your Focus didn't get hurt any worse than it was. I have some awesome twisty roads all around here, where I live, and I love driving my Escape on them at rapid speed. My Escape is a manual trans 2.3L. It's not as good as a Focus at handling, but better than almost all other SUVs.

I did get airborne briefly oneday - there was a place in the road that you can't even see, where the pavement just drops abruptly. It is always unnerving to lose road contact in a FWD vehicle - especially on a wet road!

Part of the fun of enthusiast driving is pushing the vehicle to the limit. Is it safe? Nothing is safe - you can get t-boned by a Hummer on the way to the grocery store.

at least you didnt crash the car. over the winter, i was making a turn from a dead stop at a 4 way intersection, and i slid going about 5 mph on a patch of black ice, right into a pole. the pole had a scratch. my front right got messed up. still waitin on tax money to fix that.

yea. i still have the rs-a's. i really dont have the money to get anything new yet. im waitin for my tax money so that i can fix the damage done to the car. but the tires only have like 4k on them. the dealer put them on before i bought it. maybe next spring(2007) ill be getting something better. (unless i come across a lot of money soon.)

just be glad nothing bad really happened and no one got hurt. I travel down a road similar to that like everyday, and sometimes you just cant help but push a car alittle more, especially one that handles as good as a focus.

Please don't tell me you're talking about Post.. because that road got boring :( Come to SUNY OW and go down the back roads.. there's a half circle and a 90 degree turn that I take at like 50+ each.. love the handling of my car.
